SINGING LESSONS
SINGING LESSONS IN CENTRAL LONDON
Students are guided through from their first notes towards full songs. All genres are encouraged; especially popular are pop and alternative styles. All singing lessons, regardless of level, are accompanied by piano. Advanced students are given the opportunity to perform at our social evenings and internal performances.
GUIDE TO LEVELS
The lessons welcome absolute beginners without any prior musical background all the way to advanced level students. Our lessons can incorporate any genres and are tailored to individual student’s needs, aiding in the development of musical, technical, and performance skills.
The BEGINNER level describes those students that are either learning to sing for the first time or have very recently started. Lessons focus on introducing pitches, breathing, and posture, as well as technical elements, such as rhythm and score reading. Initial - Grade 2.
Students of an INTERMEDIATE level are those that have some experience singing comfortably, generally over two years, and are ready to take on more difficult songs. Lessons incorporate more advanced techniques, improving pitch-matching and rhythmical patterns, and singing more independently from the piano. A more varied range of pieces and technical exercises are taught. Grades 3-6.
ADVANCED students explore works of contrasting musical eras and styles, whilst building a higher level of confidence singing. There is a higher emphasis on analytical learning, developing a deeper understanding of complex styles and structures. Students at this level are usually those that have studied extensively either continuously or before taking a break. Performances are highly encouraged for those studying repertoire at an advanced level. Grades 7+.
LOCATION
All private lessons take place at our music studio at 39 Ludgate Hill, located just across St Paul’s Cathedral, a few minutes walk from Blackfriars, City Thameslink and Farringdon stations. The studio is equipped with a brand new Yamaha B1 upright and an electric Kawai CA piano.
