Group Classes in the City of London
In addition to one-on-one instrumental lessons, we run small group classes focusing on harmony, composition and musicianship. Group classes offer a lightweight and at the same time engaging introduction into the music world, creating an opportunity for a shift in focus from high pressured work days and daily stress.
The classes consist of up to 10 students promising a fun and unique way of learning about different genres of music, as well as developing individual listening skills. No previous music knowledge is required to join the classes.
Classes run on a drop-in basis, please contact us to book a slot.
Harmony & Composition
18:30-19:30 THURSDAYS
During each class, a type of harmony is introduced, then demonstrated trough an example if written music. Students are thought how to create it and apply it in context, creating a small compositional work. The classes generally focus on smaller, more detailed ideas of music writing.
Musicianship
19:30-20:30 THURSDAYS
The classes focus on different genres and periods in music, from medieval to hip-hop, demonstrating these ideas and offering a new listening perspective. Those who are familiar with an instrument are also encouraged to pick and play examples introduced during the lecture.
